VSD12 A Bosch Certified Course

With the growing intergration of diesel fuel injection and electronic control, this course provides the ideal introduction and background knowledge to all modern electronic diesel control systems. Based on Bosch VE and VE/EDC diesel injection variants, the theoretical information and practical exercises in this course will provide technicians with valuable in-depth knowledge on the mechanical and electronic fault diagnosis of these popular systems.

The latest Bosch test equipment will be used to display diagnostic values and system component signals. Analysis of these displays and results is a key part of learning a diagnostic approach to vehicle symptoms and system faults.

Completion of courses VSE1, VSTD9 and VSG5 is a prerequisite to attending VSD12. Course VSG5 in particular provides the necessary background knowledge on the working of sensors and actuators. Delegates should be familiar with typical oscilloscope and diagnostic tester operation and should have attended the appropriate equipment operator’s courses.

The course is divided into linked modules, which allow the essential underpinning theory and practical skills knowledge to be delivered effectively.

Modules and subject areas:

On successful completion of VSD12 delegates will be able to:

• Carry out fault diagnosis test procedures on typical VE/EDC systems and complete the appropriate component tests to determine serviceability.
• Identify components requiring replacement or repair, where appropriate.
• Perform a complete system diagnosis test to ensure functional serviceability of sensors actuators and the circuit wiring.
