VSB8 A Bosch Certified Course

This course is for any garage technician required to diagnose faults on airbag and Supplementary Restraint Systems (SRS) as fitted to modern passenger cars. As a one day course, it is designed to compliment attendance on course VSB10 which is on body electrics and multiplexed systems.

The aim of this course is to provide delegates with a working knowledge of selected SRS control systems and enable them to carry out safe, accurate and efficient system diagnosis on such systems.
The minimum prerequisites for this advanced systems course are the successful completion of courses VSE1 and VSTD9.

Attendance on course VSE7 will aid in understanding the sensor technologies employed and delegates are expected to be experienced in typical oscilloscope and diagnostic tester operation. The appropriate equipment operator’s courses should have been previously attended.

The course is separated into linked modules to allow the essential underpinning theory and practical skills knowledge to be delivered effectively.

On successful completion of VSB8 delegates will be able to:

• Carry out safe diagnostic test routines on SRS control systems and where applicable, cable harnesses and individual components.
• Utilise all available data for the evaluation of system and component faults and be able to identify the system and component faults that require replacement or repair where appropriate.
